Anterior impingement syndrome (AIS) is pain at the front of the ankle due to compression of the bony or soft tissue structures.
AIS is caused by repeated compression at the front of the ankle joint, which may result in “joint capsule” or “synovium pinching”. The soft tissue becomes inflamed which generates pain in the ankle. In some cases, this repeated compression of the ankle joint can lead to osteophytes forming on the front of the tibia or talus bones.
There are several things that you can do from home to help relieve the pain of AIS.
