Why would I need physiotherapy home visit?

We understand that attending a physiotherapy clinic is not always easy or possible. Vitalis Physiotherapy offers physio services to people in their home, office or residential care facility. The home visit service may be helpful for:

  • people with acute pain
  • people with severe pain
  • those unable to travel
  • patients in the immediate post-operative period, when rehabilitation is crucial for the most successful results
  • elderly who would prefer the comfort of their own home, or maybe isolating due to health concerns.

What conditions would require physiotherapy home visits?

  • Post Surgery

After your surgery, you will be given some simple exercises to minimize complications (chest infection or DVT’s) and some early strengthening or range of motion exercises.

However, after surgical intervention you will require exercise progression to fully regain your strength, flexibility and function.

Our senior physiotherapists can help with post-operative rehabilitation and assist to return to your day to day activities in a safest and easiest way.

Vitalis Physiotherapy can provide support and home-based therapy to patients who are ready for discharge from hospital care, but require additional support to return home. Discuss with your Doctor prior to admission if he would like our Physiotherapists to help with your rehabilitation at home.

Our Physios are familiar with the post-surgery rehabilitation protocols and can liaise with your Doctor to determine any specific requirements based on your individual surgery. We can provide a home visit service to give you advice and treatment to make you more comfortable and help get you moving. Follow up rehabilitation can be transferred to our clinic in Sinnamon Park once you are more mobile and if it’s preferred.

  • Acute and degenerative pain

Our Physio Team understands that acute and degenerative conditions may cause problems to access a physiotherapy clinic. Our experienced and professional Physios can arrange a home visit to help with reducing your pain, help you get moving and regain your quality of life and independence.

  • Balance, strength, mobility, general de-conditioning and falls prevention

We can help to keep you moving and able to manage essential activities of daily living such as walking, getting out of bed and chairs. We assist with maximizing mobility and independence so people can stay in their home longer and can experience an improved quality of life. We can also help with referrals to other Allied Health services if required.

How to book an appointment for home visit?

We know how difficult it can be scheduling a physio appointment, or finding a good ‘physio near me’, so we’ve made it easier and more convenient to get the physiotherapy care you need.

All you need to do is just give us a call on 0410 559 856 and request a home visit appointment and we will send one of our physiotherapists to you. We strive to schedule home visit physiotherapy in such a way that it best suits you and your needs. We will arrive when it is convenient for you to perform the examination and determine the best approach to your recovery.

Do I need a referral?

You don’t need a referral from your GP to receive and schedule private physiotherapy home visits with Vitalis Physiotherapy, as our Physiotherapists are highly trained and all are first contact practitioners.

What happens at a home visit?

Through thorough examination, complex pain management and massage, our physiotherapist will create a home visit physiotherapy treatment plan to achieve your goals and ensure that you receive significant assistance. We first assess your physical state, find the best place in your home to perform the sessions, and bring the equipment necessary for your recovery.

  • Pain Management
  • Balance Exercises
  • Mobility Aids Prescription
  • Prescription of Supporting Braces
  • Rehabilitation after Orthopaedic Surgeries
  • Falls Risk Assessment and Falls Prevention Program
