In hypermobility syndrome, those ligaments are loose or weak by a suggested defect in the collagen protein. Hypermobility is a common condition, especially in children, since their connective tissues aren’t completely developed.
Unfortunately, the cause of hypermobility syndrome isn’t known, however, the condition tends to be genetic.It has been suggested that the genes implicated in the formation of collagen play a role in this condition. Collagen is a protein that adds flexibility and strength to your joints, via your ligaments and tendons.
