What Is Tenosynovitis?

Tenosynovitisis broadly defined as the inflammation of a tendon and its respective synovial sheath. It is a painful condition most commonly affecting the hands, wrists and feet. The synovial sheath is to reduce friction between the tendon and their surrounding structures. When this becomes inflamed it can become painful to be able to move your joins like you normally can.

Stenosis is the narrowing or constriction of the passage that the tendon passes through due to the inflammation of the tendon. One of the most common types of stenosing tenosynovitis is trigger finger.
