The old saying goes “prevention is better than cure”. It then seems strange that injury prevention is usually the last thing on people’s minds.
We understand that many injuries are simply bad luck, however some can be prevented, or at least minimised. Most injuries have risk factors which increase the risk of re-injury, the biggest risk factor being if you’ve had one previously. Often, we see patients who tell us that they had an injury years ago and it hasn’t bothered them, only to discover that is the cause of their current injury or condition.
