Lower back pain refers to any pain felt in the lumbar spine. The causes can be numerous and are sometimes difficult to pinpoint since the ache can gradually develop over time only to culminate in unbearable pain and limited movement. Vitalis Physiotherapy takes a strategic approach to treatment and we tailor the healing process to the specifics of your case.
Lower Back Pain
What causes lower back pain?
A sedentary lifestyle increases the chance of pain in your lower back due to de-conditioning and stiffness. Back soreness can be caused by a ruptured or herniated disk and sciatica, both which may happen as a result of a sedentary lifestyle. In addition injuries, fractures, spine cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis and muscle or ligament strains can lead to pain in the lower back. Other contributing factors could be genetics, spinal stenosis, core strength and spine curvatures.
To determine with greater certainty the cause of your problem and to be able to design a proper treatment, we perform a detailed examination and if required will refer for further investigations.
